What is an armored cable?

 

Armored cable definition - Two or more insulated wires wrapped in a protective metal sheathing designed to supply mains of electricity. The current of electricity traveling through the cable would be extremely dangerous without this protective layer.

Most all cables come armored in a protective layer. These protective layers help keep it stay intact and protects it from damaging any wires in the cable. These cables provide electricity throughout the house to light switches and electrical outlets.
