What is a tiller?

Tiller Definition– A machine used to loosen or “till” the soil, preparing it for planting or other home improvement tasks.

Ideal Home Garden Explains

A garden tiller is a useful machine designed to forcefully upturn the dirt, loosening it in preparation of gardening. Similar in appearance to a push lawn mower, tillers use rotating blades to slice up otherwise compacted soil. Larger, more powerful models may use gas powered motors perfect for heavy duty garden work that a manual machine couldn’t handle.
